Tignes, French Alps

Panoramic Tignes, French Alps: This photograph was taken from the top of bubble car in the Aiguille Percee area of Tignes. Looking across the valley, I was waiting for the French authorities to undertake some avalanche control work on the peaks you see here. Sadly for me, the cloud migrated to the peaks just as the control work started. I heard the boom vibrate across the valley but did not see any avalanche activity. However, I am stoked with the way this photograph has turned out. I’ve spoken previously about my love for the mountains and how I think they are perfectly suited to black and white photography, especially in winter. This photograph, in my mind, is a perfect example of this. Photograph details: This five-stitch panoramic was shot at 1/125 sec, F11, ISO100, 40mm on a tripod using an Olympus OMD-EM5. This photograph is available to buy here.
