Last light in Val d’Isere: I had spent the day in Val d’Isere photographing the interiors for some new chalets. The work is ok but as those of you who follow me regularly know, my passion is in the landscapes. I have written previously about how I was struggling to photograph Tignes and the surrounding area, you can read that piece here. Yet in recent weeks I feel like I’ve hit some sort of groove and I’m becoming happier with the results. This partly because I’m composing my shots a bit better but the main reason is simple; light. January has seen an end to the bluebird days which means come sunset there are some low-lying clouds which interact with the light to a pleasing effect. Photograph details: 1/15 second, F11, ISO100, 37mm, shot using an Olympus OMD-EM5.
