Stavern Norway Sunset

Stavern Norway Sunset: This photograph of Stavern in Norway was taken after a long day setting up camp for the nearby Stavernfestivalen. Stavern is a small Norwegian town found in the municipality of Larvik, but actually located south of the city itself. Each year, the region hosts a music festival which attracts revelers from Oslo, as well as top acts such as Neil Young. The town has a permanent population of 3,000 but during the summer month it swells to 30,000-40,000 as campers, those visiting cottages or the harbour spend time in the area. The port and naval base in Stavern was, until 1930, called Fredriksvern. The town was an important naval base in Norway, from 1677 to 2002. This photograph, along with many others, is available to buy, in various sizes. Please contact me via the website to discuss your options. This photograph was taken using an Olympus EM-5.
