Horseshoe Lake

Horseshoe Lake is a small treed campsite sitting at the bottom of the Steeples, part of the Rocky Mountain Trench. This spring fed lake is small but its water level changes throughout the year. Visiting at the end of summer we found the site sparsely occupied. The open pine forest and grasslands offered an ideal site for our nights camp before we departed to hike the Tanglefoot Lake trail.
