Sunset over Fernie: I feel like I’ve been talking about Fall in Fernie for months now, but it officially started a week or so ago. Yet the colours really peaked this week, check back next week for some fabulous Fall foliage photographs… or check my Instagram. This photograph was taken last week as we celebrated a friend’s birthday at the Montane Hut in the hills above Fernie. The sunset was beautiful and you can see the last light hitting the Three Sisters. What came later was a complete surprise, the Northern Lights hit Fernie and oh my god, they were epic. So I’ve included two photographs for this week. Photograph details: 1/60th sec, F8.0, ISO100, 25mm, shot using an Olympus OM-D EM5.

Northern Lights, Fernie: Just a few hours after the sunset a strange flicker started to appear in the sky, to our delight the Northern Lights came out to play. This was my first time photographing this stunning visual and I’m stoked with how this photograph came out. Photograph details: 25 sec, F4.0, ISO200, 14mm, shot using an Olympus OM-D EM5.
