Perry Creek Falls: Found down a backcountry road near Cranbrook, Perry Creek Falls is a fantastic, off-the-beaten-track waterfall. You can hear the falls well before you see them and when you do first catch a glimpse of the powerful water rushing through, my first thought was this is summer and there is still a hell of a lot of water cascading down the falls. Perry Creek Falls in the spring run-off would be a completely different animal. Photography details: Panoramic stitch at 1/6th sec, F11.0, ISO100, 14mm, shot using an Olympus OM-D EM5. I had a great time splashing about and wading through the pools just below the falls, capturing some interesting compositions. The waterfall descends into a small, round canyon, and the walls of the canyon made had some beautiful contrast. I will be adding more of those shots in a new photo essay which will appear shortly. In the meantime you can keep up to date with my latest work by following me on instagram.
