Cregennan Lakes, Snowdonia National Park: Last month I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days in Snowdonia National Park. Snowdonia is a stunning part of Wales yet most people are drawn, and rightly so, to the northern portion of the park. The southern section of the park is also beautiful and home to Cregennan Lakes. A friend and I had stopped in nearby Dolgellau for some fish and chips and got chatting to the owner. He kindly pointed us in this direction of Cregennan Lakes. Driving up the narrow lane, we weren’t sure what to expect. The cloud had us socked in for the most part. When we arrived at the National Trust car park, we scrambled up a nearby slope, where we were greeted with a stunning inversion over the Mawddach Estuary.
